I go for long periods of time without posting on social media. These quiet moments are when I dive deep into big, meaningful work. My dad often asks, “do you have any projects?” Sometimes this is just a question; sometimes the subtext is “are you still, you know, working?” It can be hard to tell with us self-employed non-posting peeps. Spoiler: the answer is always a resounding YES.

Lately we’ve been building a massive yoga platform in our orchard for our upcoming retreat.
In every project Alan & I tackle, one of us is the lead. We both work hard, get full body tired, but the lead makes key decisions about what/how/where. This was my project. What did I know about building a platform? Absolutely nothing. But everything is learnable.

From start to finish, it took 14 days. Long days, for sure – but only half as many as I anticipated. Huge thanks to the fearless Em not only for her help, but her lovely idea of writing intentions on the joists. Em, who can do a handstand (and take a nap) anywhere, will be our yoga instructor at the retreat. Also thanks to Hannah for the lovely wildflowers and a day of joist tape and homemade pizza. Who can’t love a yoga platform built in part by yoga instructors?? Most of all, thanks to my amazing Alan for being strong and handsome, for dreaming big and never resting til the work is done. Love you endlessly.
