When I first started dreaming of a yoga retreat on our farm and in my studio (a year ago? two??), never did I imagine the pure magic that would happen. The soul-ships made, connections forged, friendships created. The pure joy that poured out of the moment. Full belly laughs, full-hearted hugs. So, so, so much magic.
It has reinforced the idea that we’re going in exactly the right direction.

The day started out with a lovely feeling of anticipation as the yoga mats awaited their mates. Alan planted coneflowers and lilies around the platform the day before, an act I admittedly thought was overkill. We were almost done – we could have rested! But it turned out to be the perfect touch.

My favorite moment of the day was when our yoga instructor Em had everyone link arms during the yoga session, and told a lovely story about the power of community. That sense of camaraderie lingered – weeks later, I feel it still. I was lucky to have grabbed this photo, which I think encapsulates the day perfectly.

Em, in her element, glowing like the midday sun~

Alan’s taco bar and sourdough pizza toppings were pretty as a picture~

Unfortunately I was helping with food prep and didn’t get to experience (or sneak a photo of) Paul’s QiGong session, but I did get this lovely photo of Mary’s crystal bowls. The sound immersion she created in my studio was otherworldly and can’t be put into words. I’d say only that you feel the sound as much as you hear it, something I’ve not quite experienced.
So many lingering sensations from that day, photos don’t do it justice – but they’re lovely in their own right. So looking forward to the next one.
Much love,
Chris
