Hello all, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Highlight Real! And since my last one, I’ve gotten a new camera :))
For those of you who would ask, it’s a Fuji X-T4. It’s technically used, and the metal body and analog controls take me back to my days of film. While I can’t claim to be anything past mediocre, I did do a stint as a professional dance photographer way back in the day, before the era of digital cameras and Photoshopped pics. Then everything got buried in bells and whistles and I left in pursuit of a different creative trail.
This January I finally decided to splurge on a new camera. I wanted to up my picture game, and 2024 is a year of learning curves – why not add one more. I’m pleased to say I now know how to turn it on, focus, and this afternoon I took my first real photos :))
The first few were of Chickory, our sheep. She is extremely people-centric, which makes her very photogenic. She’s happy to get in your face so long as you scratch hers.
The next handful were from a walk through the back field. The sun was setting behind the trees and gilding the goldenrod and hay.
After that it got a little too cold for this chica, so I settled for the indoor chore of learning how to get the pics off the camera.
Learning curves flattened: 3
Not bad for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Cheers to the next one!
