My superpower is making people cry.
It’s true – it happened again just yesterday. I have a knack, I guess. I can take a flat sheet of metal and move people to tears. Real tears. Lump in your throat, emotional overwhelm tears. Even I’m overwhelmed sometimes.
But not surprised.
I’ve learned to harness it. Use its powers for good. As best I can, as best as any of us ever can. Because we all have one. Whether you call yourself an artist or photographer or painter or chef, you have a freakin’ gift that other people would give their left arm for. What are you using it for?
With any superpower comes great responsibility. You have to use use it for good. Bring people joy. Lift them up. Make them feel beautiful, empowered, inspired. Nourish their souls. Connect them to something greater than themselves. That’s your job. You don’t just get to have a superpower and sit there, while the world burns and people are hurting and alone. You have talent and skill and vision. You have work to do.
And I don’t mean work like making money. I mean real work, teaching real skills, making people feel real emotions – making the world a better place. Doing what you’re called to do. What you’re compelled to do. What you can’t not do.
My superpower is making people cry.
Beautifully put Chris…it’s one of the reasons I love to teach…empowering people to go forward on their own creative journey … bringing as much beauty into the world as possible.
Thank you Melissa! I love that about you… your inspiring light that leads the way…
