We’ve reached Year III of the pandemic, and some days it doesn’t feel like it’s getting any easier. Seasonal affective disorder is setting in. It’s cold outside. Or it’s not cold, but muddy instead. We’re all just one camel straw away from a meltdown. You need a survival guide.
Here’s mine.
Take a bath
Take a nap
Take a walk
Walk a dog
Pet a cat
Take a cat nap
Read a book
Write a poem
Write a love letter
Call a friend
Call for takeout
Call a friend over for takeout
Watch a movie
Bust a move
Bust up laughing
Burst into gentle tears
Tear into a pizza
Bake a loaf of bread
Stand in front of the warm oven
Sit in front of a wood stove
Chop wood
Carry water
Drink more water
Drink hot tea
Drink mulled wine
Wear a wool sweater
Wear wool socks
Wrap up in a blanket
Wrap yourself in memories
Look through old photos
Scroll through new photos
Call someone who remembers when
Write a letter to someone you’ve lost
Write in the sand with a stick
Stick to your dreams
Wonder what if
Stop wondering and try
Try something new
Learn something old
Be a beginner
Make a mess
Try and miss
Try again
Reach out to someone you miss
Reach your arms to the ceiling
Stretch your body
Stretch your mind
Put your shoulders down
Lovely.
Thank you, Michael
Love it.
Although, I am ashamed to say, my personal universe hasn’t changed all that much. It’s like having a snow day from school.
And finally, with my Creative Planner in hand, I expect to accomplish Great Things through the rest of the duration.
Wishing you a year ahead of Great Things! Love that you capitalized that. It makes all the difference.
Well said. My exact place this morning.
Thanks so much for reading, Louis
